Manish Tewari Slams BJP’s 370 Seats Pitch, Calls it “Hubris and Arrogance”

Congress leader Manish Tewari criticized the BJP’s ambitious pitch for 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, labeling it as “hubris and arrogance.” Tewari asserted that after a decade of the Narendra Modi government, there is palpable “pain and misery” on the ground, challenging the BJP’s claim of widespread popularity.

While scrutinizing the BJP’s performance over the last 10 years, Tewari refrained from disclosing his Lok Sabha constituency choice, responding to questions about Anandpur Sahib by stating, “I am the MP from Anandpur Sahib.” In an interview with PTI, he hinted at the Congress being “very well placed” in Punjab for the general elections.

Addressing rumors of a potential switch to the BJP, Tewari dismissed them, stating, “I do not dignify rumors with a response.” He pointed to the posting of his recent Parliament speech on social media amid speculation as speaking for itself.

Tewari had recently launched a scathing attack on the economic performance of the Modi government during the Budget session of Parliament. Regarding the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) sealing seat-sharing deals with the AAP and Samajwadi Party, Tewari emphasized that elections are yet to be announced, and there is ample time for strategic decisions.

Responding to queries about the INDIA bloc’s perceived delay compared to the BJP’s active poll strategy, Tewari highlighted the importance of assessing the incumbent government’s 10-year performance, stating that the litmus test of the election lies with the people. He emphasized that until elections are officially announced, there is a suitable time and context for all political actions.
