Tata Curvv Set to Debut with ADAS, Stunning Design, and Multiple Powertrain Options

Tata Motors is gearing up for one of its most anticipated launches of the year with the new SUV, Tata Curvv. Expected to hit the market later this year, the Curvv has been a hot topic among auto enthusiasts, especially after recent spy images revealed its inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The latest spy shot, shared by Motor Octane, showcases a camera mounted on the front windshield behind the IRVM, similar to the setup in the Tata Harrier and Safari. This camera hints at the presence of ADAS, a feature that significantly enhances driver convenience and safety. While no images have yet revealed the radar typically positioned on the lower air dam, it’s possible it remains unseen due to the vehicle’s camouflage or might be tested later in the development phase.

Tata’s ADAS suite, as seen in the Harrier and Safari, includes features such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Door Open Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert, and High Beam Assist. These features, while not enabling autonomous driving, are designed to enhance driver safety and reduce accidents.

The Curvv was initially showcased at the Auto Expo last year, drawing attention with its coupe SUV-like design, a blend of aesthetics from the Nexon and Harrier. The Curvv promises to come with a premium cabin featuring 6 airbags, a large infotainment screen, a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a JBL speaker system.

Tata plans to first launch the electric version of the Curvv, expected to offer an impressive driving range of 450-500 km. Following the electric variant, petrol and diesel versions will be introduced. The petrol Curvv will be equipped with a new 1.2-liter turbocharged engine producing around 125 PS, available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The diesel variant will feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with options for manual and AMT or automatic transmissions.

The internal combustion engine (ICE) versions of the Tata Curvv are projected for a market release by late 2024 or early 2025. With its combination of advanced technology, sleek design, and multiple powertrain options, the Tata Curvv is set to make a significant impact in the SUV segment, particularly as the most affordable Tata model to feature ADAS.
