Stormy Daniels Testifies About Encounter with Trump in Manhattan Trial

In a Manhattan trial on Tuesday, adult film star Stormy Daniels testified about her meeting with Donald Trump in 2006, revealing intimate details of their encounter. Daniels recounted meeting Trump in a penthouse suite, where he reassured her about his wife and remarked that she reminded him of his daughter before they engaged in sexual activity.

Reported by journalists in the courtroom, Daniels’ testimony provided granular insight into her physical encounter with the former president. Trump, who is facing charges in New York for falsifying records of hush-money payments to Daniels and director, denies the encounter.

Called to the stand in the trial’s fourth week, Daniels’ testimony is crucial for prosecutors aiming to prove that Trump covered up a $130,000 payment to silence her during his 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump, the presumed 2024 Republican presidential nominee, faces 34 felony charges for allegedly disguising the payments, reimbursed to his former lawyer Michael Cohen, as “legal expenses.” The Trump organization eventually paid Cohen $420,000 to account for taxes and a bonus. This trial marks the first time a former president faces criminal charges.
