Sri Lanka Chooses to Bowl First Against Bangladesh in Second ODI

In the second ODI at Chattogram, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. Captain Kusal Mendis emphasized their strategy to avoid combating the dew that troubled them in the previous game.

Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto mentioned that with the pitch in good condition, they are targeting a score of around 280-300. Bangladesh retained the same XI, while Sri Lanka made one change, bringing in Dunith Wellalage for Maheesh Theekshana.

Theekshana’s recent struggles in ODIs prompted his exclusion, and Wellalage’s left-arm spin adds depth to Sri Lanka’s lower-order batting.

Despite heavy morning rain, the sun emerged around 10 am, and no further rain is expected. The pitch, similar to the first game, appears green with cracks that may result in uneven bounce and pace. Under lights, the ball is anticipated to slide on more smoothly, facilitating easier batting conditions.
