Government Vows to Keep Essential Food Prices Stable During Elections, Piyush Goyal Reassures Citizens

Union Minister Piyush Goyal, at the helm of the Food and Consumer Affairs Ministry, has pledged robust measures to prevent the escalation of prices for essential food items, including onions, tomatoes, and pulses, especially during the upcoming elections. Goyal emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining stable prices and drew attention to the Modi government’s historical success in swiftly controlling rates following any temporary spikes.

In an exclusive interview with PTI, Minister Goyal assured that the government, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, would employ all necessary measures to prevent undue stress on the household budget, particularly emphasizing the well-being of “our Nari-Shakti” (women power).

When questioned about the strategy to avert price spikes during the general elections, Goyal affirmed, “We are going to be on top of it. And I can assure the people of India that this government cares for the women of India.” The statement underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring price stability and safeguarding citizens from the impact of inflation on essential commodities.

As the election season approaches, the government aims to build on its track record of effective price control, addressing concerns about potential fluctuations in essential food items and highlighting its dedication to the welfare of the citizens, particularly women.
