IIT Madras Alumnus Pavan Dabuluri Appointed Head of Microsoft’s Windows and Surface Division

Pavan Dabuluri, a distinguished alumnus of IIT Madras, has ascended to the helm of Microsoft’s Windows and Surface division, succeeding Panos Panay who departed for Amazon last year. With Microsoft’s decision to segregate Windows and Surface leadership, Dabuluri’s appointment signifies a strategic shift in the company’s executive leadership.

Previously involved in Surface Silicone endeavors, Dabuluri’s elevation comes as Mikhail Parakhin, erstwhile head of the Windows department, seeks fresh avenues, thus consolidating Windows and Surface responsibilities under Dabuluri’s purview.

Dabuluri’s ascent places him among a select group of Indian Americans at the forefront of Microsoft’s leadership, joining the ranks of luminaries like Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella.

Having devoted 23 years to Microsoft since completing his post-graduation from the University of Maryland in 1999, Dabuluri’s journey exemplifies dedication and expertise. Commencing his tenure as Reliability Component Manager, his trajectory underscores his commitment to excellence within the organization.

In a recent statement, Dabuluri expressed his pride in the team’s accomplishments, highlighting their efforts in delivering exceptional devices and experiences for Microsoft’s customers. As he assumes his new role, Dabuluri’s leadership promises to steer Windows and Surface divisions towards continued innovation and success in the dynamic tech landscape.
