Nikki Haley Joins Hudson Institute, Championing American Security and Prosperity

Former South Carolina governor and US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, has joined the esteemed Hudson Institute, announced the think tank on Monday. Renowned for her leadership in both foreign and domestic policy, Haley will assume the role of the next Walter P Stern Chair, bringing her expertise and advocacy for American security and prosperity to the institute.

Hudson President and CEO, John P Walters, praised Haley’s unwavering commitment to freedom and her effectiveness as a leader amidst global political upheaval. He expressed honor in welcoming her to the Hudson team, recognizing her as a staunch defender of American principles.

Haley herself emphasized the critical role of organizations like Hudson in safeguarding American interests and promoting a secure, free, and prosperous future. She highlighted the importance of providing policymakers with accurate information and viable solutions to address contemporary challenges.

As a Republican politician, Haley suspended her presidential campaign last month, paving the way for a contest between former President Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden. However, her influence and dedication to public service remain undiminished as she takes on her new role at Hudson.

The Walter P Stern Chair, inaugurated in 2020, commemorates the achievements of former Chairman Walter “Wally” Stern, reflecting Haley’s courage and insight as a policymaker. Sarah May Stern, chair of Hudson’s Board of Trustees, lauded Haley’s contributions and expressed pride in her joining the institute.

Haley’s political career has been marked by historic achievements, including being the first woman to win a Republican presidential primary. As the first Indian-American to win either Democratic or Republican primaries, she has shattered barriers and paved the way for future generations of Indian-American leaders.

Born Nimarata Nikki Randhawa, Haley’s journey embodies the American dream, rooted in her parents’ immigration to the United States in the 1960s. Her dedication to public service and advocacy for American values continue to inspire and shape national discourse.
