Prime Minister Modi Urges High Voter Turnout in Final Phase of Lok Sabha Elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi rallied voters in 57 constituencies, spanning across 8 states and Union Territories, to exercise their franchise in the decisive seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Urging citizens, particularly the youth and women, to participate actively, Modi emphasized the importance of strengthening India’s democratic ethos.

In his message posted on social media platform X, Modi highlighted the significance of the polling day, calling upon voters to turn up in large numbers and make their voices heard. With 904 candidates, including Modi himself contesting from Varanasi, vying for the mandate of 10.06 crore voters across 1.09 lakh polling stations, the electoral landscape is poised for a pivotal outcome.

In the politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh, 13 constituencies are in contention, with Varanasi emerging as the focal point, where Modi seeks a third consecutive term. His main challenger is Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai. Additionally, Gorakhpur, the bastion of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, witnesses a fierce electoral battle between BJP’s Ravi Kishan, SP’s Kajal Nishad, and BSP’s Javed Ashraf.

Bihar, with eight constituencies in the fray, showcases significant contests like Misa Bharti from Pataliputra and Ravishankar Prasad from Patna Sahib. Meanwhile, in West Bengal, notable candidates include Sandeshkhali survivor Rekha Patra from Basirhat, TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee, Sudip Bandopadhyay, Sougata Roy, and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar from various constituencies.

As the nation inches closer to the culmination of the electoral process, the turnout in the final phase holds immense importance in shaping the future trajectory of India’s democratic framework.
