Maxis and Nokia Forge Partnership to Enhance Next-Generation Connectivity

Malaysian telecommunications company Maxis and Nokia have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding their collaboration and focusing on next-generation connectivity solutions.

As part of this partnership, Maxis will collaborate with Nokia to explore the implementation of cutting-edge technologies to strengthen its networks, with a focus on enhancing security and reliability. This includes the adoption of quantum-safe optical networking, offering protection against threats from both classical and quantum computers.

Additionally, the two companies will work together to innovate and enhance connectivity across cloud environments, with a focus on improving network security and efficiency.

Maxis has recently engaged Nokia as a key partner to build a part of its 5G Core ecosystem, leveraging cloud-native solutions to fully utilize 5G capabilities and meet future connectivity needs.

Goh Seow Eng, CEO of Maxis, expressed enthusiasm about the closer collaboration with Nokia, emphasizing the importance of innovating across the network ecosystem and 5G offerings to meet customers’ growing demands for fast, secure, and reliable connectivity.

Maxis recently conducted what it claims to be the first 5G-Advanced technology trial in Malaysia and Southeast Asia in partnership with Chinese vendor Huawei, showcasing its commitment to advancing telecommunications technology in the region.
