The director of the state-run SSKM hospital, Manimoy Bandyopadhyay, provided a health update on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who sustained injuries after a fall near her home on March 14.
Speaking to media representatives on Thursday, Bandyopadhyay stated that Mamata was discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for her injuries. He elaborated that the chief minister was admitted with a “history of a fall within the vicinity of her home due to some push from behind.”
According to the hospital director, Mamata underwent treatment for a cerebral concussion and received three stitches on her forehead and one on her nose, which was bleeding profusely upon arrival.
“Initially, she was assessed by the heads of neurosurgery, medicine, and cardiology departments to stabilize her vitals. Following this, necessary procedures including ECG, CT scan, and others were conducted. Medical experts provided their opinions, and appropriate treatment was administered,” Bandyopadhyay added.
