Lok Sabha Poll Fever Grips Delhi as Modi and Gandhi Address Rallies

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha election campaign intensified in the capital on Saturday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressing rallies in the Northeast Delhi and Chandni Chowk constituencies. Corruption was a central theme in both speeches.

Modi’s Accusations Against INDIA Bloc

Prime Minister Modi accused leaders of the INDIA bloc parties of looting the people of Delhi. He alleged that politicians who once championed the fight against corruption are now embroiled in scams and facing jail time.

Gandhi’s Criticism of Modi’s Policies

In contrast, Rahul Gandhi criticized Modi’s tenure, claiming that his policies have only benefited a handful of wealthy industrialists. Gandhi highlighted the misuse of electoral bonds, asserting that those under investigation by central agencies have been donating to the BJP to avoid legal repercussions.

Kejriwal’s Unique Campaigning Style

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is out on interim bail after spending time in Tihar Jail, adopted a unique campaigning style. He addressed five “nukkad sabhas” (street corner meetings) in the West Delhi constituency, urging people to vote for the INDIA bloc to ensure he stays out of jail.

The rallies mark a significant escalation in the election campaign, with leaders from major parties making strong allegations and appeals to voters as the Lok Sabha polls approach.
