Lok Sabha Elections: Akshay Kumar, Shaktikanta Das, and Others in the Spotlight

In the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 held on Monday, May 20, Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati were among the prominent early voters. The election phase involves 49 constituencies across six states and two Union Territories. Many other celebrities also participated in voting in Mumbai early in the day.

Bollywood personalities such as Sanya Malhotra and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker were seen casting their votes in the morning. After casting his vote in Juhu, Akshay Kumar emphasized the importance of voting for a strong and developed India. Farhan Akhtar, waiting in line at a polling station in Bandra West, expressed his desire for a government that ensures good governance and looks after all citizens.

Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, urged voters to participate actively in the democratic process. Kharge specifically encouraged people to vote against hatred, unemployment, and inflation.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das also stressed the importance of voting as a fundamental right in a parliamentary democracy. He encouraged all eligible voters to come out and exercise their right to vote.

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker shared a photo of himself voting and urged people to vote because it is their right and duty. Veteran actress Shubha Khote, accompanied by her daughter Bhavana Balsavar, also cast her vote, encouraging others to vote for the right person to fulfill the nation’s needs.

As voting continued, the involvement of prominent figures and their messages underscored the significance of active participation in the democratic process.
