Exclusive: First Spy Shots of Upcoming Kia Carens Facelift Surface in India

Kia’s momentum in 2024 continues with the Sonet facelift launch, and now, the spotlight turns to the upcoming Kia Carens facelift. Exclusive spy shots obtained by Motoroctane suggest that the new model is gearing up for its debut in India before the year ends.

What to Expect

While the rear-end image doesn’t reveal much, anticipations are high for minor cosmetic updates to the Carens. The facelift might introduce subtle changes to the exterior, including a revamped front grille, headlamps, and a redesigned rear bumper.

Inside, the Carens is likely to maintain its current dashboard design but could feature an enhanced equipment list and fresh upholstery colors. Anticipated tech upgrades include a new digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and an electronic parking brake. Additionally, the level 2 ADAS module from the Kia Seltos facelift may find its way into the new model.

Powertrain and Transmission Options

Expect the Carens facelift to retain the same engine lineup as the current model. This includes a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine delivering 113 bhp/144 Nm, a 1.5-litre diesel producing 114 bhp/250 Nm, and a potent 1.5-litre turbo petrol churning out 160 bhp and 253 Nm torque. Transmission choices will encompass manual, iMT, and DCT gearbox options.

Launch and Pricing

While Kia hasn’t confirmed the exact launch date, industry insiders anticipate the Carens facelift to hit the Indian market by the end of 2024. This MPV model is expected to follow the next-generation Kia Carnival, slated for release in H2 2024. With a host of added features, the Carens facelift could be priced between Rs 13 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), offering consumers a compelling choice in the MPV segment.
