To capture a significant share of the Indian SUV market, Jeep plans to competitively price this new model while leveraging its renowned brand name. Although design details have not been revealed yet, the SUV is expected to feature a body-on-frame chassis similar to the Thar, renowned for its robustness and off-road capabilities.
While specific powertrain options remain undisclosed, it’s anticipated that both diesel and petrol engines will be offered, along with a four-wheel-drive system and locking differentials for enhanced off-road performance. The SUV is likely to include modern amenities such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, while safety features like airbags, electronic stability control, and a surround-view monitor are expected to be included.
Despite positioning the SUV as a premium product, Jeep aims to make it the most affordable offering in its India portfolio. Reports suggest that the starting price could be around Rs 18 lakh, making it more accessible compared to the Jeep Compass, which currently starts at Rs 20.69 lakh in India.
