Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates Key Segment of Dwarka Expressway, Revolutionizing Connectivity

In a groundbreaking moment for India’s infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the highly anticipated 19-kilometre elevated section of the Dwarka Expressway on Monday. This significant development marks a transformative milestone in the country’s road network, particularly enhancing connectivity between Dwarka and Gurgaon with a mere 20-minute commute.

The newly opened elevated section of the Dwarka Expressway stands as a remarkable architectural feat, distinguishing itself as the widest road constructed on a single pier. Boasting eight lanes and incorporating innovative features, this expressway aims to improve connectivity and traffic efficiency in the region.

The Dwarka Expressway, totaling 28.5 kilometers, has seen the unveiling of its 19-kilometer Gurgaon section. The entire expressway is slated to be fully operational later this year, promising comprehensive connectivity benefits for commuters.

The Gurgaon section of the Dwarka Expressway, with an estimated cost of Rs 4,100 crore, encompasses two crucial segments: the 10.2-kilometer Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the 8.7-kilometer Basai ROB to Kherki Daula stretch. Beyond facilitating quicker travel between Dwarka and Gurgaon, the expressway provides direct connectivity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.

Expressing the significance of the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter, stating, “Today is an important day for connectivity across India… The Haryana Section of Dwarka Expressway will be inaugurated. These projects will boost economic growth and are also in line with our efforts to build next-generation infrastructure.” The completion of the Dwarka Expressway is poised to contribute significantly to economic growth and modern infrastructure development in the country.
