Advice for Commuters

The advisory recommends that those traveling to ISBTs, railway stations, or airports carefully plan their routes and allocate additional time for travel due to the diversions and restrictions. The traffic restrictions will be effective from 10 am onwards on Sunday.

Significance of Mahavir Jayanti

Mahavir Jayanti is a significant festival in India, especially for the Jain community, as it marks the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the 24th and last Tirthankara of Jainism. The celebration involves organizing prayers and rituals in Jain temples, giving the statue of Lord Mahavira a ceremonial bath, and carrying out processions. Due to the large-scale celebrations at Bharat Mandapam, the Delhi Police has put these traffic measures in place to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow.
