With just a day remaining before the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, candidates across constituencies took a break from the hectic campaign trail to spend time with their families, seek blessings, and strategize for the final push on election day.
Mahabal Mishra, West Delhi Candidate:
Started the day by playing carrom board with his grandchildren and having breakfast with family members. Later, visited the war room to thank volunteers, had ‘dahi-chooda’ with party workers, and discussed preparations for May 25. Planned to meet party workers throughout the day at his residence.
Sahi Ram Pahalwan, South Delhi Candidate:
Spent an hour with family in the morning, then met volunteers to discuss booth management. Considers volunteers as part of the family and acknowledged their hard work during the campaign.
Somnath Bharti, New Delhi Candidate:
Unwound himself by playing tennis in the morning, had tea with family, and visited a gurdwara and Valmiki temple to pay obeisance. Planned to spend time with children and engage in booth management discussions throughout the day.
Kuldeep Kumar, East Delhi Candidate:
Met volunteers throughout the day to discuss booth deployment for May 25.
J P Agarwal, Congress Candidate from Chandni Chowk:
Considered it the busiest day, covered special areas in the constituency since 5 am, making final efforts to appeal to voters.
Praveen Khandewal, BJP Candidate from Chandni Chowk:
Started the day early, meeting people and visiting their homes individually to establish personal connections. Involved his entire family in reaching out to people, emphasizing the importance of the final day of preparations.
Yogendra Chandolia, BJP Candidate from North West Delhi:
While the last few days were hectic with campaigning, he took a relatively relaxing day, meeting party workers at his office and strategizing for booth-level management for the election day.
Despite the varying activities, all candidates shared a common goal of making final preparations and connecting with voters before the crucial day of polling.
