Film Festival in Thiruvananthapuram Focuses on Autism Narratives and Inclusion

The Centre for Autism and other Disabilities Rehabilitation Research and Education (CADRRE) in Thiruvananthapuram is organizing the CADRRE International Filmlet Festival on Autism (CIFA). The festival invites film entries of one to five minutes in duration, in any language, that positively explore diverse narratives and experiences related to autism.

The primary focus of the films should be on inclusion, aligning with the institution’s goal of creating an inclusive society. The winning entries will be showcased at the CADRRE International Filmlet Festival on Autism, and the best film will receive a prize of ₹1,00,000. The second-best film will be awarded ₹50,000, and the most popular film, determined by audience poll, will also receive ₹50,000.

There is a registration fee of ₹5,000 for films submitted within India and $100 for films from outside India. The submission deadline is February 29, 2024. The award ceremony is scheduled for April 2, 2024, on World Autism Awareness Day. The initiative aims to promote awareness and understanding of autism through the medium of films, contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate society.
