At least 21 passengers lost their lives and approximately 47 others sustained injuries after a bus rolled down a deep gorge in Jammu’s Akhnoor area on the afternoon of May 30. The J&K Police reported that the bodies of the 21 deceased passengers were transferred to the Sub District Hospital (SDH) in Akhnoor.
“Seven of the injured were admitted to SDH, Akhnoor, while 40 others were taken to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Jammu. A rescue operation is currently underway,” stated the police.
