Brixton Motorcycles Set to Enter Indian Market with 4 New Bikes

Austrian motorcycle manufacturer Brixton Motorcycles is poised to make its debut in the Indian market through a partnership with KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd. Initially, Brixton plans to introduce four distinct motorcycles to the Indian bike market, though the specific models remain under wraps for now.

Brixton Motorcycles, with its Austrian roots and British branding, is known for crafting a diverse range of motorcycles, including scramblers, classics, cafe racers, and neo-retro models. The brand aims to captivate Indian motorcycle enthusiasts with its unique blend of style and performance.

While the design of these bikes takes place at Brixton’s facility in Austria, manufacturing will occur at a state-of-the-art plant in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. This partnership leverages the manufacturing expertise of KAW Group to produce high-quality motorcycles for the Indian market.

To further customize their products to meet the needs and preferences of Indian riders, Brixton Motorcycles and KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd will set up a research and development center in India. This approach aligns with the company’s goal to make India a strategic export hub for Southeast Asian and African markets, demonstrating Brixton’s long-term vision to boost sales across international markets.

Accessibility is a crucial part of Brixton’s strategy, and the brand intends to establish a comprehensive dealership network to ensure customers across India can easily access its premium motorcycles. The plan includes opening 15 dealerships by the end of 2024, with a further expansion to 50 dealerships the following year.

Tushar Shelke, Managing Director of KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd, expressed enthusiasm for introducing the prestigious Brixton brand to the Indian motorcycling scene. He highlighted that anticipation is high, with a focus on providing motorcycles that appeal to a wide range of consumers. The company is also gearing up to launch an adventure motorcycle (ADV) in the future.

Brixton Motorcycles offers bikes from 125cc to 1200cc, suggesting a broad spectrum of potential offerings in India. The competition in the Indian motorcycle market is fierce, with Brixton poised to compete against established brands like Husqvarna, Triumph, Royal Enfield, BMW, Bajaj Auto, and KTM.

Although Brixton has yet to announce which specific models will be launched, the brand’s motorcycles often feature a retro-modern design, appealing to younger buyers seeking both style and performance. With a focus on innovation and adaptation to local markets, Brixton’s entry into India is set to bring a fresh dynamic to the country’s vibrant motorcycle industry.
