With just five days remaining until the commencement of the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its much-anticipated election manifesto on the morning of April 14th.
The launch event, held at the party headquarters in Delhi, saw the presence of prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The manifesto, titled “Sankalp Patra,” outlines the party’s vision and promises for the upcoming elections.
Notably, the release of the manifesto coincided with the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, a revered figure in Indian history and the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. Ambedkar’s legacy as a prominent leader from the Dalit community adds significance to the timing of the manifesto launch.
The BJP’s manifesto drafting process emphasized inclusivity and public engagement. Inputs were solicited from a diverse range of sources, including online contributors and individuals reached through offline party efforts. Prime Minister Modi had previously announced the party’s intention to incorporate suggestions from various demographics, reflecting a commitment to representing the interests and aspirations of all citizens.
In line with this commitment, the BJP deployed innovative initiatives such as the ‘Viksit Bharat Modi ki Guarantee’ video vans, which traversed the nation to gather public feedback. These efforts underscore the party’s dedication to crafting a comprehensive manifesto that addresses the diverse needs and concerns of the electorate.
