Microsoft’s search engine, Bing, and its AI-powered chatbot, Copilot, are currently facing an outage, leaving hundreds of users unable to access these services. Reports of the outage surfaced a few hours ago, with users encountering errors or being greeted by messages indicating service unavailability.
Users attempting to visit Bing.com are met with either an error or a grey-colored webpage featuring the Bing search pane. Some users receive a message stating, “Bing isn’t available right now, but everything should be back to normal very soon.” Meanwhile, Copilot appears stuck on the ‘Loading’ screen for some users, followed by an error message indicating connectivity issues.
Despite user reports, Microsoft has yet to provide clarity on the cause of the outage or an estimated time for service restoration. The DALL-E-powered Bing Image Creator tool is also affected, displaying the same error message as Bing Search.
Additionally, the privacy-focused search engine DuckDuckGo is also experiencing accessibility issues, compounding frustrations for users seeking alternative search options.
As users await resolution, the outage underscores the vulnerability of digital services to disruptions and the importance of robust infrastructure and contingency plans to minimize downtime and maintain user experience.
