Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), kicked off the party’s campaign in Punjab for the upcoming general elections on March 11. During the event, Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to destabilize the Bhagwant Mann government by approaching its MLAs. He urged the people to secure victory for the AAP in all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, emphasizing the importance of raising their voices in Parliament.
Asserting that the AAP does not seek the seats for personal gain but to work for the prosperity of families in Punjab, Kejriwal highlighted the party’s commitment to enhancing the state’s well-being. The Delhi Chief Minister unveiled a slogan at the event, emphasizing Chief Minister Mann’s leadership and the positive impact of AAP’s presence in Parliament on Punjab’s reputation.
Kejriwal stressed the significance of having AAP representatives in the Lok Sabha, assuring the public that they would actively advocate for their concerns. He cited examples of intervening in cases where rural development funds were withheld, promising that AAP MPs would persist until issues affecting Punjab were addressed.
The AAP, a constituent of the India bloc, is contesting the Lok Sabha elections independently in Punjab. Kejriwal’s accusations against the BJP and his call for a comprehensive victory underscore the heightened political dynamics and competitive landscape as parties gear up for the upcoming elections in the state.
