Sara Ali Khan Stars as Firebrand Freedom Fighter in Ae Watan Mere Watan

The trailer for “Ae Watan Mere Watan” unveils Sara Ali Khan’s portrayal of Usha Mehta, a fiery freedom fighter in 1940s India. Inspired by the real-life story of Usha Mehta, a student activist from Bombay’s Wilson College, the film captures her pivotal role in organizing the swadeshi Congress Radio, also known as Azad Radio, during the Quit India Movement against British rule.

Set against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement, “Ae Watan Mere Watan” follows the journey of Usha, a 22-year-old college student in Mumbai, as she clandestinely operates a radio station to mobilize resistance against the British colonial regime.

Directed by Kannan Iyer and written by Iyer and Darab Farooqui, the film promises to showcase the courage and determination of Usha Mehta in galvanizing the freedom movement. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the movie brings to life a significant chapter in India’s struggle for independence.
