Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Akash Anand has publicly expressed his respect for party chief Mayawati’s decision to remove him from his role as her political successor. Despite the sudden change, he reaffirmed his commitment to fighting for the “Bhim Mission” and society until his last breath.
On Thursday, Anand took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his loyalty and gratitude to Mayawati, acknowledging her as a source of inspiration for the Bahujan Samaj and a key figure in their journey toward political empowerment. “Respected @mayawati ji, you are an ideal for the entire Bahujan Samaj. It is because of your struggles that today our society has gained political power, allowing the Bahujan Samaj to learn to live with respect,” Anand wrote in his post.
He added, “Your orders are our obedience. I will continue to fight for Bhim Mission and my society till my last breath. Hail Bhim, Hail India 🙏🏼.” His statement underlines his acceptance of Mayawati’s leadership and his commitment to the BSP’s cause.
Mayawati’s decision to remove Akash Anand from his position as national coordinator and political successor was announced earlier this week. The BSP leader explained that the move was in the party’s best interest and would remain in effect until Anand gains “full maturity.” Despite his removal, Anand’s father, Anand Kumar, will continue in his role with the party.
Although Mayawati did not specify the exact reason for Akash Anand’s removal, the decision came on the day voting was held for the third phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024. Speculations arose following last month’s incident in which Anand was booked for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The case involved objectionable language used at a poll rally in Sitapur, where he criticized the BJP-led state government.
Akash Anand’s respectful response to Mayawati’s decision reflects his dedication to the party’s principles and his willingness to support the BSP’s mission despite the leadership shake-up. As the BSP navigates this transitional phase, it will be crucial to see how Anand’s role within the party evolves.
