Amit Shah Hails Security Forces’ Success Against Naxals, Vows to Eradicate Naxalism

Home Minister Amit Shah praised the government’s offensive strategy and the valor of security forces in containing Naxalism to a small area, expressing confidence that Chhattisgarh and the entire nation will soon be free from the Naxal menace. Shah’s remarks came after a successful operation in Chhattisgarh where a significant number of Naxalites were neutralized.

In a statement on social media platform ‘X,’ Shah lauded the security personnel for their bravery and wished speedy recovery to the injured policemen. He emphasized the government’s determination, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, to eradicate Naxalism from the country.

The recent gun battle between Naxals and security forces in Kanker resulted in the killing of several Naxals. The operation, carried out by a joint team of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the District Reserve Guard (DRG), exemplified the effectiveness of anti-Naxal efforts.

Since December 2023, a total of 68 Naxals have been eliminated in separate encounters in the Bastar region, which comprises seven districts including Kanker. With Lok Sabha elections approaching, Bastar and Kanker constituencies, both Naxal-affected areas, are scheduled for voting in April. The government’s relentless efforts underscore its commitment to ensuring peace and security in these regions and across the nation.
