In Amaravati, TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu made a plea to the people of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, soliciting donations for the party ahead of the upcoming polls, stressing that the victory of the TDP is crucial for the welfare of the state.
Acknowledging the integral role of the TDP in the lives of Telugu people, the opposition leader urged citizens to contribute to the party, likening it to actively participating in its operations.
Naidu emphasized the significance of supporting the TDP for the advancement of the state, the future of its children, and the preservation of Telugu identity. He announced the launch of a website to facilitate donations, offering various denominations ranging from ₹99 to ₹99,999 and beyond.
Setting an example, Naidu initiated the fundraising effort by making the first donation of ₹99,999, highlighting the importance of empowering a party committed to the reconstruction of the state.
During a press conference at the party office in Mangalagiri, Naidu assured that, upon assuming power, he would enhance the government volunteer system, ensuring a monthly salary of ₹10,000 for volunteers, compared to the current ₹5,000 under the NDA government.
The ruling YSRCP introduced the ward and village volunteer system in 2019 as a decentralized governance mechanism, involving volunteers responsible for overseeing 50 households and delivering welfare schemes directly to beneficiaries.
With assembly elections scheduled for May 13 in Andhra Pradesh, followed by vote counting on June 4, Naidu’s call for donations underscores the TDP’s efforts to secure support and financial backing for its electoral campaign.
