Supreme Court to Hear Arvind Kejriwal’s Petition Against Enforcement Directorate Arrest Today

Today, the Supreme Court is set to deliberate on a writ petition filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenging his recent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The development comes after Kejriwal’s arrest yesterday stirred controversy and raised legal questions surrounding the matter.

A specially constituted bench, comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna, MM Sundresh, and Bela Trivedi, will convene to address Kejriwal’s plea. Senior Advocate Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, brought the matter to the attention of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud this morning, seeking urgent consideration.

The petition challenges the legality of Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate, adding a new dimension to the ongoing legal battle surrounding the Delhi liquor policy case. With high stakes involved and public interest at the forefront, the Supreme Court’s decision on the matter is eagerly anticipated.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the Supreme Court’s intervention is expected to provide clarity and resolution to the complex legal issues surrounding Kejriwal’s arrest. The outcome of today’s hearing holds significant implications for both the Chief Minister and the Enforcement Directorate, shaping the trajectory of the case moving forward.
