YSRCP Announces Final MLA Candidates List for Visakhapatnam District

In a significant development ahead of the upcoming elections, Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy unveiled the final list of MLA candidates for the combined Visakhapatnam district on March 16.The announcement revealed that most Assembly constituencies have retained their sitting MLAs, signaling continuity and stability within the party ranks.

The finalized list largely reflected the expected candidates, with minimal surprises. Many of the selected candidates had already been serving as constituency in-charges and actively engaging in campaign activities in their respective areas.

In Visakhapatnam, prominent figures like Visakhapatnam MP M. V. V. Satyanarayana and YSRCP leader Adari Anand will be contesting for the Visakhapatnam East and Visakhapatnam West MLA seats, respectively. The incumbent Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs pose stiff competition, illustrating the intense electoral contest in the region.

Key strategic decisions include allocating the South and North Assembly constituency tickets to TDP rebel MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar and NREDCAP Chairman K. K. Raju, respectively. Meanwhile, IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath will shift his electoral battleground to the Gajuwaka Assembly constituency, presenting a fresh challenge for the seasoned politician.

The YSRCP’s commitment to retaining experienced leaders is evident in the nominations of A. Adeep Raju, Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, and other sitting MLAs from Pendurthi, Bheemunipatnam, and neighboring constituencies. Additionally, the party has strategically positioned M. Bharat as the MLA candidate for Anakapalli, setting the stage for a face-off against Jana Sena Party (JSP) candidate Konathala Ramakrishna.

As the electoral landscape takes shape, a fierce contest between YSRCP and its rivals in Visakhapatnam district is on the horizon. The announcement of the final candidates list signals a shift in the political dynamics of the region, setting the stage for further evolution in the run-up to the elections.
