Delhi Presents ₹76,000 Crore Budget for FY25 with Emphasis on Women’s Welfare

On March 4, Atishi, Delhi’s Finance Minister, presented the budget for the fiscal year 2025 in the State Assembly with a total outlay of ₹76,000 crore. The budget includes the introduction of the ‘Mukhyamamantri Mahila Samman Yojana,’ where women aged 18 and above will receive ₹1,000 per month. Atishi emphasized that the government is inspired by the ideals of Ram Rajya.

As part of the budget announcements, the Business Blasters scheme, previously implemented in schools, will now extend to universities and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Last year, the government allocated ₹78,800 crore for the financial year 2023-24 and introduced nine schemes in preparation for the G20 summit.

The budget, presented ahead of general elections, reflects the commitment of the Delhi government to various social welfare programs. Atishi, who took charge of the finance department last year, acknowledged the contributions of former ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain in shaping education and health models in the national capital.

“This is a moment of pride that the Kejriwal government is presenting its tenth budget today. I am not just presenting the tenth budget but a picture of changing Delhi. Mr. Kejriwal came as a ray of hope. We are all inspired by Ram Rajya. We are working hard towards realizing the dream of Ram Rajya,” said Atishi during her budget speech.
