Former Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat and prominent BJP leader, Nitin Patel, has decided to withdraw his candidature for the Mehsana Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming general elections. This decision follows the release of the BJP’s initial list of 195 candidates, which included 15 from Gujarat.
Nitin Patel made the announcement of his withdrawal from the Mehsana seat in a post on X on March 3. He expressed his hope for the continued success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “I pray to God that Narendrabhai Modi becomes the Prime Minister for the third time in a row and increases the prestige of India in the whole world.”
Having served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat from August 2016 to September 2021, Nitin Patel remains an influential figure within the BJP. The BJP will now need to finalize and announce a new candidate for the Mehsana Lok Sabha constituency.
