OnePlus Set to Re-enter Smartwatch Market in India with Nord Series

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has revealed plans to reenter the smartwatch market in India with its upcoming smartwatch under the Nord category. The watch is expected to feature a 1.78-inch AMOLED display with 500 nits peak brightness and a resolution of 368×448. While additional details and features are yet to be disclosed, OnePlus aims to make its mark in the wearable tech sector.

This move follows OnePlus’ previous ventures into wearable technology, including the release of OnePlus Nord Buds, Nord Buds CE, and Nord wired earphones. The Nord Buds and Nord Buds CE are entry-level true wireless stereo (TWS) devices with a design reminiscent of earlier Apple AirPods, featuring sleek in-ear design.

OnePlus has been active on the smartphone front as well, launching the OnePlus 10T with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip in August. The company also introduced OxygenOS 13, available with the OnePlus 10 Pro, which was released earlier in 2022. In the summer of the same year, OnePlus launched the OnePlus Nord 2T, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor, targeting mid-segment buyers. As OnePlus expands its product offerings, the entry into the smartwatch market adds a new dimension to its portfolio, catering to users interested in wearable technology.
