Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Inaugurate MILAN-2024 Naval Exercise in Visakhapatnam

In a significant development, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Visakhapatnam on February 21 (Wednesday) to officially inaugurate MILAN-2024, a prominent multilateral naval exercise hosted by the Indian Navy. The ceremony will include the formal opening of the MILAN Village at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) base, symbolizing the commencement of this high-profile event.

The run-up to the inauguration witnessed a series of engaging events on Tuesday, setting the stage for MILAN-2024. Activities included a health trek, a yoga session, MILAN of Young Officers, a demonstration of the Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV), and a full dress rehearsal of the International City Parade.

The health trek, which commenced from Dolphin’s Nose hill, witnessed active participation from over 600 personnel representing the Indian Navy and friendly foreign Navies. Following the trek, a refreshing yoga session unfolded at Yarada Beach, adding a holistic dimension to the preparatory events.

The upcoming MILAN-2024 naval exercise holds strategic importance, fostering collaboration and camaraderie among participating navies. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s presence at the inauguration underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing naval cooperation and preparedness in the region.
